Support of scientific research is one of the fundamental aims of the Georgian National Museum. The scientific research includes various projects, archeological excavations, research analyses, conservation of the collections, and establishment of close relations with local and International scientific institutions.

Our scientists work in the fields of geology, paleontology, zoology, botany, archeology and ethnography, history and artis. The GNM provides researchers from different institutions with the opportunity of using its wide resources.

The GNM aims at sharing the results of a cutting-edge scientific research through cooperation with other scientific institutions and the relation with the public. The GNM is responsible for informing the society on the new discoveries, thus, performing one of its primary roles of serving as a bridge between the past and the future.
