Exposition titled Medieval Georgian Relief Sculpture

Window header.  7th - 8th cc.
Shavi Sopeli, Lower Kartli
Stone.  95 X 70 X 30 cm

The window capital was found in 1967 by researchers from the Ancient Georgian Art Division of the Art Museum of Georgia in the ruins of Shavi Sopeli church on the left bank of the Khrami River, near the village of Kosalari. The capital presumably depicts the composition “Christ in Glory”.
