Museum: Museum Of Fine Arts

The conference "Historic Pages of Alaverdi Eparchy" took place at the Georgian National Museum Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts on 14-16 of November 2006.

The conference was organized by Alaverdi eparchy, Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Georgian National Museum.

Historians, archaeologists, art critics together with young researchers were participating in the conference. After the event, exhibition of "Georgian Ecclesiastical art in 10^th - 11^th centuries" was opened for the wide audience.

Alaverdi epoch is brilliantly presented in Georgian art in medieval centuries. Bagrati cathedral, Oshki, Svetitskhoveli, Samtavisi, Katskhi are unique examples of this time.  

Exhibition showcased reach collections of pictures and exponents of the Georgian National Museum. Book presentations also took place at the event.
