The scientific journal Nature published an article “The early hunting dog from Dmanisi with comments on the social behaviour in Canidae and hominins“ (Saverio Bartolini-Lucenti, Joan Madurell-Malapeira, Bienvenido Martínez-Navarro, Paul Palmqvist, David Lordkipanidze & Lorenzo Rook) about the teeth and jaw fragments, found at Georgia’s 1.8-million-year-old Dmanisi Site, that belong to an extinct canid known as the Eurasian hunting dog.
The fossil is the oldest of its kind yet found.
