Check-coat services are free for the following items:  

  • Coats and jackets
  • Umbrellas
  • Travelling bags and backpacks
  • Motorcycle/bicycle helmets
  • Musical instruments

Following items can not be checked:

  • Passports, documents and IDs
  • Money, checks and credit cards
  • Valuables
  • Handbags

Handbags (maximum size A3) can be brought into the GNM galleries. In case of questionable items, a decision will be made by the authorized personnel.

Visitors should collect their belongings bofere closing hour. In case of forgetting to pick up or loss of the checked items, please notify the authorized personnel immediately.

In case of violating the policies, the GNM is not responsible for the loss or damage of any items.


 Recommendations and Regulations

  • The last entrance tickets are sold 30 minutes before closing hour. Visitors should leave exhibition halls 10 minutes before closing
  • Children under 12 should be accompanied by parents or the authorized personnel. Parents are kindly requested not to carry little children on their shoulders
  • Parents, teachers, nurses, and group supervisors are responsible for children's actions
  • Running, smoking, and excessive noise is prohibited in the GNM museum buildings and galleries
  • Eating and drinking is allowed only in the GNM cafes and the designated areas
  • Each member of the group should stay nearby the authorized personnel or group supervisor
  • Copying art works in galleries is prohibited without a permission of the GNM Administration
  • Visitors must keep their tickets until the end of the visit
  • The following items are prohibited at all times in any part (social or exhibition) of the GNM: chemical and toxic substances, firearms and weapons, food and drink, sharp, overweight, or oversized items, other art works, art work reproductions, or casts, scooters, skateboards or bicycles, pets and animals.

Photograhy and Video Recording     

  • Taking photos for personal use without using flash and tripods   is allowed in the GNM buildings and permanent exhibition galleries
  • Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited at temporary exhibitions
  • Photography for commercial purposes is subject to prior approval by and a written permission issued by the GNM Administration and the Communications Department
  • Photography and video recording featuring the GNM employees is a subject of prior approval by the GNM Administration.
