From Blue Stallions to Abstraction – Temo Gotsadze 75

Georgian National Museum Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery invites you to the opening of the Georgian prominent artist Temo Gotsadze's jubilee exhibition "From Blue Stallions to Abstraction" and the presentation of the catalogue. The opening event will take place on 25th of March at 6 p.m.

 The exposition will showcase 140 paintings by the artists. Among them the monumental abstractions, most of which will be exhibited for the first time. A large part of presented works have been created in recent years and are united in a series called "From Blue Stallions to Abstraction". At the exposition will also be displayed graphic series of "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" created in 2015.

Artist Temo Gotsadze has maintained a high public profile alongside his prolific creative pursuits. In 1967-1983 he had been the artist producer and the chief artist at the Georgian Television and Radio Broadcaster. For 12 years he served as a director of the House of Artists, while the further 18 years (1988-2005) was a general director of the National Picture Gallery. Under his leadership, the National Picture Gallery has permanently organized and hosted personal and thematic exhibitions of the Georgian Artists. He paved the way for many well-known Georgian artists and supported their emergence into the art arena.

The works of Temo Gotsadze are preserved at the Georgian National Museum, Federal Museum of California, State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art in Dusseldorf, Museum of Contemporary Art in Canada, the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow. Also in Italy, USA, Mexico, Iran, France, Great Britain, Turkey, Russia and in the private collections in Georgia.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall Center of Cultural Events.

The Exhibition will last until 18th of April, 2016.
