Exhibition “Our Tbilisi and Georgia”

Georgian National Museum Tbilisi History Museum Invites you at the opening of the exhibition "Our Tbilisi and Georgia" by the representatives of the four generations of Vepkhvadze family. Opening event will take place on October 1, 2015 at 6 p.m.

Exhibition will showcase artworks by Ivane, Alexander, Giovanni and Bruno Vepkvadzes. Regardless common perspective, each member of the dynasty is established as an individual artist with unique point of view.

  • Ivane Vepkhvadze (1888-1971) was born in Tbilisi, graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Art. Was working in diverse fields including portrait, landscape, genre composition and creation of movie posters.
  • Alexander Vepkhvadze (1921-1982) was born in Tbilisi, was studding at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and Repin Institute of Architecture, Sculpture and Painting. Artist was awarded with the Stalin prize. He was working on book illustrations and also a portrait genre.
  • Giovanni Vepkhvadze was born in 1949. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, afterwards he was teaching at the Nikoladze Art School. Author is known in different genres - landscape, portrait, steal life, urban landscapes. His works are protected in different museums and private collections both in Georgia and abroad.
  • Bruno Vepkhvadze was born in 1986, in Tbilisi. Studding at the Nikoladze Art School. Simultaneously he was participating in different exhibitions. In 2009 he graduated from Tbilisi State Academi of Arts. His works are protected in different private collections both in Georgia and abroad.

Exhibition will last until 10th of October.
