Later, the painting was found by Kolau Cherniaevsky in Moscow at the collection of Kirile Zdanevich. Eventually, the Soviet government bought Pirosmanashvili's painting and gifted it to the famous French poet Louis Aragon on his 60th birthday.

While Rezo Tabukashvili was working on his film "Papers from French Diarie" in 80ies, he made the first video shots of "Arsenali Hill at Night" at Aragon's house.

After the death of Louis Aragon and his wife Elsa Triolet, the masterpiece was transferred to their heir Jean Ristat.

The painting was again sold at Mac Dougall's Fine Art auction house in London in 2010.  The work of art was purchased by Maecenas Bidzina Ivanishvili on 1st of June 2015.

By the decision of the owner of the painting "Arsenali Hill at Night" will be gifted to the Georgian National Museum Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts and will enrich it's art collections.

Eventually, Georgian citizens and guests from other countries will have the possibility to see the painting. Before this, "Arsenali Hill at Night" was represented in Tbilisi only once in 1919 at the National Gallery.
