Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and Georgian National Museum -Tbilisi History Museum present the exhibition of artworks by David Gabashvili - famous Georgian classic artist of the 20th Century (1914 - 1995) on June 20, 2012 at 17:00.

David (Duda) Gabashvili was born in Tbilisi in 1914, graduated Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts in 1939. He was studying in Joseph Charlemagne's class, who was one of the founders of Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts. David Gabashvili has worked in the State Printing Houses, Museum and in the Cinema Studio as well. At the same time he was the Head of the Painting Department.

Duda Gabashvili's creative life is quite long - 60 years, and it's characterized by a unique diversity. It is believed that his painting is a transitional and connective stage between the first and second halves of the 20th Century. Artist had exhibitions in Georgia, England, Germany and Russia. David Gabashvili's paintings still retain importance as a clear example of epoch's achievements in the field of art.

The exhibition presents private collection of artist's family, which includes up to 100 works, paintings and graphic works as well as sculptures. The exhibition will last till July 2, 2012
